Margins Page is about sharing a point of view. Whether you have an opinion about a specific piece or literature, or an interesting idea generally, or perhaps just a story to share, we’d love to read your work and host it on our platform.
Submission Guidelines
- Full submissions are accepted however all submitted work must include a short pitch/synopsis
- Pitches and synopsis’ must not exceed 150 words
- Articles must not exceed 1,000 words.
- Short stories and novel excerpts must not exceed 3,000 words
- The writings contained on this platform are as open as your imagination. Though Margins Page is centred on black British literature, submissions do not have to focus on race, nationality or identity politics.
- We accept literature of all genres and various forms including short stories, novel excerpts, non-fiction articles, academic essays and poetry. If you think your idea belies categorisation please submit anyway – we can figure it out later!
- For any images/artwork/video or any other media file or link you’d like to be included in your piece please enclose within the submission or provide details/link to be considered.
- It’s important that any non-fiction articles containing supposed fact are referenced appropriately to ensure rigour and credibility. Please include reference links to any submissions if appropriate.
How to Submit
- E-mail ‘info@marginspage.com’ telling us a little about yourself and your interests. Attach to the email (Microsoft Word and PDF format only) a brief outline/pitch for your piece (poetry may be submitted without).
- When submitting please state clearly the following; title of the submission, name of author, date of submission, and attach submission document.
- If your article is time sensitive (i.e. about current/popular affairs) please mark this as ‘time sensitive’ in the subject line
What Happens Next…
- Once we receive your submission we will carefully consider your pitch and it’s suitability for publication
- We aim to respond to each submission within 10 working days of it being received
- If we like your idea/completed piece we will liaise with you directly about presentation and publication
