ABOUT

Margins Page is an online platform dedicated to black British literature. Our name is a play on the words themselves; stories of black people in Britain have been, both past and present, relegated to the margins of the British canon. Our aim is reconfigure this position, offering a page to help develop, curate and promote black British literature in all its various forms. It’s an open space where the margin belongs to the page.

Our Vision

The contours of what it means to be black British are yet to be fully drawn (if indeed it can, or even needs to be). With contributions made to this page, our vision is that formations begin to emerge from which we can further explore and represent the black British experience. Our aim is threefold:

To Develop – by providing an open space of discussion and criticism for readers and writers to continually develop their interest and craft

To Curate – by exploring black British authors and their work, both past and present

To Promote – by providing a platform for black British authors to share their work
